About Mrs. Katia
I am pleased to welcome you to Pembroke Pines Charter West Middle. I'm thrilled to be your math teacher this year. This is my fourteenth year as an Educator. I am happy to be part of such an amazing school that has great students, families, faculty and staff.
I am in my fourteenth year of teaching. I love teaching middle school Mathematics. Seventh grade mathematics is filled with a variety of topics which prepares the students for upper level math. My goal for my scholars is to learn to enjoy math just a little more :)
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. Ever since I was in the 4th grade, my dream was to be a teacher. So, I attended Northeastern Illinois University, where I received my Associates and my Bachelors from Florida Atlantic University. I am pursuing my Masters in Counseling Education. My hobbies include biking, reading, baking, fashion/Interior designing, going to the beach, and playing volleyball.
I love spending quality time with my husband and kids. I miss my parent’s in Chicago but I am fortunate enough to visit back home often. I have three brothers who mean the world to me and I have three wonderful kids, named Ayaad, Ziyaad & Aria- who are the center of my universe!
I am looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year. Please feel free to check back to this website as I keep it updated. I believe that teaching a child must begin with making a child feel at home in their classroom and helping all the children come together into a learning community. If you want to speak with me for any reason, don’t hesitate to e-mail me.
Your child is a valuable part of the classroom. Please feel free to let me know any information that may help me be successful with your child. I am looking forward to getting to know your child as a thinker, learner, and as an individual.
My Classroom Mission:
To build a love of learning and self-confidence so that students are empowered to reach for the future they want to achieve.
